  1. Stay organized and give yourself new challenges: list making and organization is a key part of any business venture. Staying organized and never resting on achievements will serve you well in the long term. Always set new challenges for yourself and work towards new milestones. It is easier to stay on target by making clear lists that map out these steps you will take.
  1. Delegate time to family and friends: when you get busy, do not let it overwhelm your personal life to an extent that is detrimental. Stay grounded and stay close to family and friends. Look after your support system and remain true to your loved ones. Branson reiterates the point that becoming an entrepreneur demands proper delegation of time. It is important to find the time to be with the people who make you better and free you from stress and obligation. Take some vacation time and spend time with your family. Do not let work and hassle get in the way of what truly matters. While keeping a company running, it may be overwhelming. However, set a day-to-day schedule the counts in family, friends and children so that no one is left out.
  1. Disconnect from the television set and stay active: Branson draws from his childhood experiences in which his mother refused to allow too much television in the house. Branson sets a similar tone with his own family and children. He made it a priority to travel with his family and enjoy new and interesting experiences together. It is always better to get out and do something than sit back and watch. Do something rewarding and fascinating so that your curiosity never gets turned off. This type of lifestyle is bound to inspire more creativity and interest.
  1. Respond to naysayers by proving them wrong: Branson demonstrates the importance of neither ignoring critics nor allowing them to get the upper hand. Instead, make careful and steadfast judgments that will prove them wrong. When Branson initially proposed his idea for a space tourism business, critics thoroughly attacked his idea. However, Branson and his team have already begun taking steps that prove the viability of the idea in the long term.
  1. Do what makes you happy: never lose sight of what you respond to and gravitate towards. Do what you love and don’t sweat the small stuff. Branson uses the analogy of having a sofa in his kitchen area. This quirky add-on is symbolic for getting the most out of each day even if it means doing something unconventional. Life is about the enjoyment we get from it and not just the money we make throughout our lives.
